Ms C Richard, Head at Helen Keller Resource, Qrendi, invited HESC staff to intervene during a school activity held on Wednesday 3rd February. During the activity, food was served to both parents and students. Support teachers from HESC facilitated a nutrition intervention for parents. Through an intervention featuring short video clips, the parents had the opportunity to discuss the importance of choosing healthy food to meet diverse family needs.
Parents shared various practical ideas related to the different nutritional needs of their children. The proposed list of food which was served on the day was vetted by HESC staff prior to the activity to ensure that it is in line with A Whole School Approach to A Healthy Lifestyle: Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Policy.
